One of the highlights of the year at Irvine Camera Club is the annual Panel Competition.  This differs to most competitions in that you are asked to submit 5 images that are individually strong, but that become stronger when presented together as a panel.

This takes planning and along with a statement of intent which outlines your plan for your set of images, is more of a project to be undertaken over time, rather than put together at the last minute.  It takes thought, consideration and an ability to curate your images to tell the story you wish to tell.

The winner this year was Clive Watkins with his boxing images and panel entitled ‘Champ’.  One of the many runner up panels was ‘Coffee’ by Ben Swinton which is also presented here, once again highlighting how popular black and white photography is amongst club members.

Irvine Camera Club is a community based photographic club.  There is something for everyone, so if you are interested in photography and would like to come along, you would be made to feel very welcome.

We meet on Tuesdays starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
