Grand Hall, Kilmarnock - 7pm
Doug Allan is one of the world’s most respected cameramen, best known for his camera work in cold, remote places on BBC wildlife and expedition series such as Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet and Forces of Nature. In this presentation, he’ll describe highlights from his 35 year career filming wildlife. Diving under the ice, making friends with whales and NOT being eaten by polar bears.
Doug’s photographic awards include eight Emmy’s and four BAFTA’s. He has twice won the underwater category in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year and has four Honorary Doctorates in recognition of his camerawork, as well as two Polar Medals.
Every picture tells a story, and Doug’s Life Behind the Lens will have plenty of both.
"Wildlife cameramen don’t come much more special than Doug Allan"
- Sir David Attenborough.
